Can you tell me how to update using registry hack? I found out that the issue was because in Nvidia control panel I put for all apps to automatically use Nvidia driver by default, windows 10 really didn't like that, maybe it was the Run Registry Editor RegEdit. Double click or double tap on AllowOSUpgrade, and modify its value data from 0 to 1.
I hope this helps. Volume keys work but that's about it for the shortcuts. The touchpad is a big issue, Microsoft keeps installing a broken Synaptics driver which blue screens upon install, I reboot, uninstall synaptics driver, after 2 reboots it's back again.
Sometimes it works but most of the time it will BSOD, and windows update relentlessly reinstalls it and there is no real option to disable this update. So what is required to make windows 10 work like windows 7 did from the factory i have already did a clean install and battery life has gone down and also fn keys dont work along with the nvidia card any guidance would be awesome.
It will most certainly never work like windows 7 did out of the factory assembly. For it to do that it would have to be a haswell-E 14nm chip with a geforce GTX series or newer, with OEM support for all of the customized onboard devices and appropriate firmware upgrades.
Long story short, neither Sony, Nvidia or Microsoft want to take ownership of supporting this device this late in its life cycle. Some users like myself have cobbled together some tweaks that force it to run, but I'm mostly doing this for testing purposes, kind of like installing XP on a Pentium 2, it might run, but don't expect all the features to work as intended.
I am bored so i try registry hack, and upgraded to windows 10, lets see what i observe, Nvidia is definitely working. Fingerprint work but not login, testing windows hello with pin tonight. Fn keys works, Sony control works battery safe, keyboard illumination Sound works.

If yours is in there, awesome. If it's not then we have a problem. In cases like this you have to go straight to the source and download the latest nvidia driver from nvidia. I personally get mine from the Linux Forum on NvNews nvidia's forum.
They don't package their installers as debs, they're just executables. Note: Ubuntu's driver will automatically rebuild the nvidia kernel module when it updates its kernel security updates, etc. Unless you want to get involved in some serious scripting trickery, the manually installed one wont. So after kernel updates you'll likely be dumped at a low-resolution screen with a prompt on what to do next. Click exit to prompt or the one that sounds like that and do what you did starting from point 2.
Note on that Note: I recommend you never use the low graphics mode as it can disturb your desktop settings.
