Asus cpu overclocking tool

In terms of graphics benchmarks, it behaves in roughly the same way as a desktop, unmodified Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics card. In Extreme mode, things kick up a notch. With a custom overclock applied from within the ROG software, I was able to bring performance up marginally by allowing the processor to run at 4.

Our CPU benchmarks showed modest improvements, which means the processor was unable to sustain these clock speeds for long periods.

Running CPU torture tests and games simultaneously, processor temperature never rose above 57 o C, which is well within safe limits. Under load, the fans of the cooling dock never exceeded more than quiet whooshing. In addition, it makes the laptop rather more flexible if you want to pick it up and move it around the house.

Docked, the Asus is significantly faster than the MSI Dragon without an overclock applied, faster in the Geekbench single- and multi-core tests.

If you want the most powerful laptop that a lot of money can buy, then you should absolutely buy the ROG GX There are also laptops with external docks to consider. Unlike other sites, we thoroughly test every product we review. We use industry standard tests in order to compare features properly. We never, ever accept money to review a product. If you haven't noticed, Asus' latest flagship laptop, the ROG Zephyrus M GM, looks good -- so good, in fact, that the look is trickling down to Asus' mainstream line. You still get a customizable RGB keyboard and strong audio quality, but its weak point is a dim display. You may have seen this one before. It's made of a handsome black aluminum with a two-toned effect, and has a large, mirror-shined ROG logo on the right side of the lid that lights up in a menacing red when the laptop is on.

The lid also has a small Republic of Gamers logo on the very bottom of the light, and a cutout lets you see the status lights even when the machine is closed. When you open the laptop, you'll find a There's a full island-style keyboard with a number pad on the aluminum deck and some volume hot keys above the Function row.

But if you're comparing the GU to the Zephyrus, you'll also notice what's missing: an exhaust panel on the back of the machine that opens and closes with the laptop, allowing for a ton of heat to escape. On the GU, there are two legs in the back that lift the machine up to let a little extra heat escape, but there's nothing as dramatic as the vent. The software monitors workload, system temperature, fan speed and power draw every minute, and makes real-time adjustments to ensure ongoing optimal performance.

Boot into operating system. A stress test assesses system performance in order to estimate system potential as well as voltage needs for overclocking. Return to BIOS. Hit F10 to save and reboot. Click the AI Overclocking button and the system will automatically reboot and optimize overclocking settings. Turn on your PC and put on a load on the processor to get a baseline reading of your CPU, cooling system capabilities. For each new motherboard platform, our in-house experts painstakingly profile thousands of processors and system configurations to hone the highly advanced algorithm of AI Overclocking.

The algorithm analyses your CPU and system cooling, and then defines optimal voltage and frequency settings.

Predicted values can be applied manually or engaged automatically to save time. Once activated, the AI Overclocking utility continually tracks vital system stats, making profile adjustments to account for changes in system usage or ambient temperature.

Clicking the AI Overclocking button within AI Suite 3 automatically reboots the system and optimizes overclocking settings. Fire up your PC and run a quick stress test in the operating system. Our latest generation of Z motherboards takes automatic tuning to a whole new level with intelligent prediction. AI Overclocking is faster and more efficient than other methods, and it allows you to overclock a system in just a few short steps from the UEFI or desktop.

There is of course, plenty of friendly competition too. Check the RealBench Leaderboard to compare your system against the world's best. Be sure to run a different benchmarks a few times and play some intensive games to make sure your system is stable.

Before you don your mad scientist coat, you'll need to make sure your GPU is able to handle overclocking.
